Web Experience Design,
Major's Retreat
Transformation of Major’s Retreat’s online presence with refined branding, a responsive CMS-driven website, dynamic activity and menu pages, illustrated property maps, and integrated analytics - a seamless digital experience that engages guests and empowers the retreat team.

What we did
The Project
Major’s Retreat, a family-owned getaway destination in India, approached Spindigo Designs to completely reimagine their digital presence. Their existing website was a simple one-page Google Site, built by the owner, with no real structure, limited appeal, and an inability to convey the true experience of the retreat. Potential customers had to message the owner directly for details like packages, photos, pricing, or amenities - resulting in fragmented conversations and missed opportunities.
Our goal was to transform this into a professional resort website design that not only showcased the retreat’s charm with photos, videos, and organized packages, but also created a seamless customer journey. The site had to serve as a one-stop hub for all retreat information, reduce manual dependency, and set the stage for an integrated Online Booking System.
The Challenge
With the old website, every detail - from accommodation options to payment confirmation, was handled manually over WhatsApp, causing delays, inconsistent information, and a frustrating customer journey that held the business back from scaling.

Research & Analysis
We studied competitor hospitality websites, collaborated closely with the owner to understand business goals, and created an information architecture that grouped Day Outing and Staycation packages, showcased menus from “Major’s Kitchen”, and highlighted activities and experiences in a way that matched user expectations.
Using Webflow CMS, we designed a retreat website that was beautiful, responsive, and easy for a non-technical business owner to maintain.
The Information Architecture
The information architecture itself was refined over a series of engagements and meetings/discussions with the client, that resulted in a very effective, but simple structure of the web experience.

Wireframes
We developed UX wireframes that mapped how visitors would explore the retreat, discover offerings, browse menus, and navigate toward booking - ensuring the content hierarchy guided customers logically from curiosity to conversion.

Design & Brand Alignment
The retreat’s logo carried deep personal meaning, rooted in the identity of the owner’s father, a retired army major. We modernized the logo to make it cleaner, legible and more versatile, while preserving its heritage and brand colors.

We extended the brand language into the website’s design system: a warm, earthy color palette, typography that felt modern yet approachable, and layout elements inspired by the logo’s forms. Subtle visual cues, rustic aesthetics, and thoughtful use of imagery brought the entire brand together, ensuring the site felt like a natural extension of Major’s Retreat’s identity rather than just another hospitality template.
Easy Content Management
We implemented a Webflow CMS that allowed the retreat’s admin team to update packages, menus, photos, and activities without needing technical skills. This made the website future-proof, ensured fresh content, and reduced dependence on developers for routine changes, critical for small hospitality businesses.

Responsive Design
The website was designed to be fully mobile-friendly and responsive, ensuring that customers exploring on their phones could access the same smooth, professional experience as desktop visitors.

Refinement Based on Real Data

Post-launch, we integrated Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity to capture user behavior insights. Using this data, we refined the site with small but impactful UX improvements, optimizing button placement, adjusting information flow, and ensuring visitors clicked through to booking with less friction. These data-driven iterations enhanced the overall guest experience and supported better conversions.
Project Features
Structured Packages
We created clearly defined Day Outing and Staycation packages, each with detailed inclusions and options, so visitors could instantly understand what suited their needs without back-and-forth with the owner.

Major's Kitchen
A dedicated section highlights the retreat’s food experience with CMS-driven restaurant menus, making it easy to update seasonal offerings and giving customers a clear picture of dining options before they book.

Strategic Call-To-Action Buttons
Call-to-action buttons were placed at thoughtful points across the site, guiding visitors toward making a booking decision naturally without feeling overwhelmed or lost in the journey.

Happy Customer Testimonials

To build trust and credibility, we integrated a CMS-based testimonials section, enabling the owner to easily add authentic guest reviews that strengthen the retreat’s reputation online.
Activities Page
We built a visually rich Activities page that showcases on-site experiences and nearby attractions, helping potential guests imagine the variety of things to do during their stay.

Hand-drawn Custom Map
A custom, hand-drawn aerial map of the property was designed to scale, allowing guests to explore key areas digitally and also download a high-resolution PDF to carry with them during their visit.
